Prafull Kadam was born at Jawla, Taluka Sangola, District Solapur in 1977. Prafull has a great lineage from his parents. His grandfather Prabhu Kadam was an eminent personality of his times. He resigned from armed forces as he did not want to serve the foreigners and he dedicated himself to the national mission of education. His books were included in the curriculum of schools in the Mumbai region (that time Mumbai ilakha). He was an expert at Wrestling, Mallakhamb and Hunting. His ‘Kadam discipline’ and 'Kadam School' pattern was well acclaimed at that time. Not only in the Indian community but he was respected and feared in British circle too. Prafull Kadam’s father, Shivrao Kadam too took the torch of his father’s work ahead and significantly contributed in the sector of education as teacher and education officer. His schools won national acclaim. Many of his students hold high posts in various fields today. He was a respected leader of the Teachers’ Union. However he stayed away from politics and gave importance to education. He is remembered even posthumously with respect and pride due to his great contribution.

Prafull who inherited a respectable educational heritage from his father, also got a wonderful political lineage from his mother. His mother Padmavati’s father, Late Babasaheb Patil was the Patil of the surrounding area. He was respected for his decent and judicious behaviour. Prafull’s maternal uncle Mr. Sahebrao Patil benefited from this background and was selected for fifteen years unanimously as the Sarpanch and ZP member and later as Chairman of Solapur ZP till date.

Though Prafull had an ideal family backing, his father’s sudden demise created great adversities for him. He experienced several other problems along with an economic crisis. However he overcame all the hurdles in the way of his idealism by great courage, responsibility and restraint. These adversities guided his understanding of reality and gave him a new consciousness and direction. Prafull has done significant work in different areas in spite of economic crunch and has successfully made his mark on the scene of development. He has concentrated on action rather than publicity. He has refused the major awards for which he was supposed to apply for. He has achieved so many things without anyone’s support and those things that cannot be bought by money.

Prafull's batch was known as a merit-holder batch. All of them excelled in their lives but Prafull was the only one who chose a political career. Prafull who was always a meritorious student was a national level player too. Had he pursued sports, he would have surely won international laurels. Had he planned to earn money, he would have surely been a millionaire by now. He could have easily become an engineer, doctor, advocate or a senior bureaucrat. However he turned back on all golden offers of career right from college days to pursue his nationalist political idealism. An ardent fighter right from his childhood, Prafull could have chosen a fast-paced life but Gandhiji's thoughts created a deep impact on him and changed the course of his life. There are many who have witnessed this sacrifice and idealism. Therefore all of his friends take pride over their idealist friend Prafull!

Prafull keeps away from any type of addiction; not even tea and coffee. It is a rare scene these days to see such clean, moral personalities with an excellent character. In his busy schedule it is very suprising to see that he has maintained very good health with a Hb count of 15.8 and balanced level of sugar. All these assets of Prafull are seminal for today’s times. It would be worthwhile to mention that despite being busy in several activities he never ignores his study and contemplation and he always lives like a connoisseur.  His study is without any limitations. He transgresses in the fields of history, science, economics, philosophy, law, agriculture, environment, energy and so on.  All his study is directed towards his national work. He is an ardent fan of Shivaji Maharaj and also gives high reverence to Mahatma Gandhi, Karl Marks, Saint Tukaram, Saint Chokhamela, Mahatma Phule, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Bhagatsingh, Khan Abdulgafarkhan, Pandit Nehru, Rana Pratap, King Akbar, Stephen Hawkins, Albert Einstein, Madame Curie, Mary Curie, JRD Tata, Verghese Kurien and the likes. He has also nurtured his hobbies of music, games, touring. He is a fan of Amitabh Bachchan. All of his hobbies reflect his honesty and enthusiasm. His friend-circle is huge and encompasses people from all fields and strata. This helps him to sustain even in bad times. His world of experience grew manifold. He never did anything for a publicity stunt.  But we friends felt that he should have at least a political website that could speak about his work. His work being immense, it was not possible for us to touch all of it in a small period of time but we have tried to atleast give an overview of his activities.
